Tyrant is an American political drama television series conceived by Howard Gordon and Craig Wright and directed and written by Gideon Raff. Tyrant’s debut season, which consisted of ten episodes, aired on FX on June 24, 2014, and finished on August 26, 2014. Tyrant was later renewed for a second season by FX, which started on June 16, 2015, and finished on September 1, 2015. The network renewed the series for a third season on October 8, 2015, which debuted on July 6, 2016. FX announced on September 7, 2016, that the show would be terminated after three seasons.
Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011)
David Gelb directed Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a 2011 Japanese-language American documentary film. Jiro Ono, an 85-year-old sushi maestro and proprietor of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a Michelin three-star restaurant, is featured in the film. Sukiyabashi Jiro is a sushi-only restaurant in a Tokyo subway station with ten seats. Jiro Ono presents a tasting menu of around 20 dishes for a minimum of 30,000 yen as of 2014. Jiro’s two kids, both sushi chefs, are also featured in the film. Takashi, the youngest son, departed Sukiyabashi Jiro to start a Roppongi Hills branch of his father’s restaurant.
A Wilderness of Error (2020)
A Wilderness of Error is a five-part FX documentary true-crime series directed by Academy Award-nominated film director Marc Smerling that aired on September 25, 2020. It is based on Errol Morris’s book A Wilderness of Error: The Trials of Jeffrey MacDonald. The story of Jeffrey MacDonald, an Army surgeon convicted of murdering his wife and two kids on February 17, 1970, is examined in this series. On August 29, 1979, he was found guilty of the crime and has been in jail since 1982. MacDonald, on the other hand, maybe blameless.
Mountains May Depart (2015)
Jia Zhangke directed the Mandarin-language drama film Mountains May Depart in 2015. Jia is working on his ninth feature film. At the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, it competed for the Palme d’Or. It has also been selected for the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival’s Special Presentations section. On October 30, 2015, it was launched in China. The movie is split into three halves. The first chapter takes place in 1999 in Fenyang, a medium-sized town in northern Shanxi province. Tao (Zhao Tao), a 25-year-old shopkeeper, is caught between two suitors.
The First (2018)
The First is a drama television series created by Beau Willimon and starring Sean Penn, Natascha McElhone, LisaGay Hamilton, Hannah Ware, Keiko Agena, Rey Lucas, James Ransone, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Brian Lee Franklin, Oded Fehr, Norbert Leo Butz, Annie Parisse, Melissa George, and Jeannie Berman. The series, a collaboration between American streaming provider Hulu and British television network Channel 4, premiered in the United States on September 14, 2018, and in the United Kingdom on November 1, 2018. Hulu canceled the show after one season on January 18, 2019.
Into the Dark (2018)
Into the Dark is a Hulu-produced horror anthology series set in the United States. The first season, which consists of twelve feature-length episodes, began on October 5, 2018. The second season of Into the Dark was renewed for a second season, which will launch on October 4, 2019, and will likewise include twelve episodes. The series is created by Blumhouse Productions’ television division, with creator Jason Blum executive producing each episode. The Furies (1950)
The Furies is a 1950 American Western film directed by Anthony Mann and starring Barbara Stanwyck, Wendell Corey, and Walter Huston in one of his final acting roles. The Criterion Collection released the film on DVD in the United States in 2008.
A Teacher (2020)
Hannah Fidell’s A Teacher is an American drama television miniseries based on her film of the same name. Kate Mara and Nick Robinson star in the series. It is created by FX and will launch on November 10, 2020, on sibling streaming service FX on Hulu. The miniseries received mostly good reviews from critics. The characterization of the two characters, performances, tempo and growth over the original were all praised as enhancements, although the finale was panned for its hurried style, lack of closure, and simplistic handling of complicated topics.
The Most Dangerous Animal of All
“The Most Dangerous Animal of All,” based on the New York Times best-selling book of the same name, is a four-part documentary series that follows one man’s hunt for the father who abandoned him, only to discover the worst: he believes his father is the Zodiac murderer, one of America’s most known serial murderers. The series is an honest portrayal of actual life and genuine crime colliding unexpectedly to upend one man’s sense of self-identity.
American Horror Story
Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk developed the anthology horror television series American Horror Story for the cable network FX. Each season is designed as a stand-alone miniseries, with its own cast of people and locales, as well as a plot with its own “beginning, middle, and conclusion.” Each season’s storyline components are largely based on actual occurrences.
