What is Firmware?
A set of micro instructions stored in a chip is called Firmware. Micro instructions are hardware level instructions which are directly executed by the hardware.
Firmware is loaded into the equipment, either at the time it is manufactured or later, by the person installing the equipment or the person using it.
In other words, Firmware, which is added at the time of manufacturing, is used to run user programs on the device.
Firmware is a combination of software and hardware. ROMs, PROMs and EPROMs that have data or programs recorded on them are firmware.
