Bangtan Boys launch a smashing summer hit!

It is time to put on those dancing shoes and get groovy to the tunes of BTS’s summer track ‘Butter’.

After lighting up 2020 like ‘Dynamite’, the boys channelled major ’80s vibes with this epic new dance-pop number. With the funky synth-bass fusion and the uber-cool music video, the boys weren’t joking when they said that the song will focus more on showing each of their “charms.”

While the song lives up to the hype created by the funky teaser, it is really the boys – RM, V, Jin, J-Hope, SUGA, Jung Kook and Jimin who not only serve by hitting the high notes, but also bring on their suave, stylish side and groovy side for the video.

Watch the song below:

The song is starkly different from ‘Dynamite’ which goes to show their range as artists. One listen to this track and you’ll be singing along to the chorus, “Side step right left to my beat / High like the moon rock with me baby / Know that I got that heat / Let me show you ’cause talk is cheap / Side step right left to my beat / Get it, let it roll.”

The teaser initially had everyone thinking this song would have tunes inspired from the Queen track ‘Another One Bites The Dust’, but going by this track, it is far from the truth. While it does start with some good old classic head-bobbing beats, there is no denying that the boys hit the perfect high with Jimin and Jung Kook, while RM and SUGA’s rap give this song a young and fresh feel.

The boys also found a sweet way to dedicate the music video to their fans. While RM raps In the video, the other six can be seen forming the world ‘ARMY’ in the background.

BTS Butter Music Video

‘Butter’ is the second English single following ‘Dynamite’ released in August last year. Besides the song dropping on various streaming platforms, BTS will also release a ‘Butter’ music video on their official handles.

Ahead of the album drop, the boys treated fans to a special countdown that had them participating in fun games. The boys divided themselves into two teams based on their hair colour and got creative as they made breakfast sandwiches with butter and even chocolate spread for them to show off their culinary skills.

With this, BTS and the worldwide BTS ARMY will look forward to smashing a long list of records they created with ‘Dynamite’, including the fastest MV to cross 100 million and 1 billion views on YouTube. It remains to be seen if they can top their own record and record the highest views for a music video in 24 hours.

BTS clocked many firsts with ‘Dynamite’, including a Grammy Award nomination at the 2021 award ceremony. While they were tipped to be the favourites, they lost out to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s ‘Rain On Me’.

‘Dynamite’ also became the longest-charting single by a Korean artist on the Billboard 100 list. They beat out PSY’s long-standing ‘Gangnam Style’ record by staying on the top for 36 weeks.
